Looks impressive and really like the shape, seems well proportioned.
Evora sized, look forward to seeing one in real life.

Good video link for a bit more info on the spec, not much was mentioned in the launch.

Good luck to Lotus, hope it sells well and is a success.
Especially to increase second hand offerings in years to come :)

Very much an evolution of the Evora and looks fantastic, it has a lot of work to do to replace 3 outgoing models so let’s hope it’s well built and drives and performs as good as it looks. Good engine options too :thumbsup

I think the v6 might be the lower spec one. That AMG lump is potentially good for more than the V6 has the dual clutch box and more longevity with respect to emissions

Great to see a buzz back in the old forum!

Well done to Lotus for staging a varied launch in the end game of a bloody pandemic

Car looks although James alleges it appears a touch “tall” but as ever, need to see it for real to decide.

Hoping Lotus will send one to Silverstone Classic end July - then we can put that argument to bed!

Kudos to our Graeme Robertson and bazillion others for what they’ve pulled off. Forza Lotus

Hmm , looks don't do it for me yet but I recall feeling the same way about the Exige v6 at launch. Suspect it will look better in person and grow on me.

I think it looks great, I had a play with the configurator it does look like the black pack helps to make it look a bit lower. :D

Thoughts?

My initial thoughts;

I think it looks great, the Evija seemed like a pointless exercise, but now works as a halo model for the Emira to capitalise upon. Enough styling cues without aping it too much.

Reading between the lines; it no longer has stepped wheel sizes, but has bespoke tyres - the tyre manufactures were only willing to make bespoke tyres in one size?...

Then engine / gear box options "optimised for each engine" - more like the the gearbox options is the only option available to go with that engine.

Great to see an AMG lump as an option - but will it have character?

Price seems keen, but I'm sure the actual cars with some options will be a lot higher.

Great to see actual buttons for HVAC system.

1400kgs seems heavy. But then again, times move on, safety regs etc etc

Performance not spectacular, but I assume that is to leave space for future models with increased performance.

First new car in a long time that I really really want!!

1400kgs
Price point is good to hear , it not completely unobtainable but 1400kg with a 2.0 4 pot seems very un-lotus like. Will get lighter for sure but 1400kg is a shock.

Wait till they show you the difference between the Elise and the Emira and you'll understand why its heavier.

I think the prospect of the AMG Powertrain is tremendous :thumbsup

Very tempted

I don't expect there will be much weight difference between the 4 pot turbo with DCT and the V6 manual assemblies tbh.

It's the same weight as an Evora and not much more than a late Esprit with rather a lot more to it than the latter. Not ideal, but the market for properly lightweight cars is tiny and falling.

And it leaves space for a a striped out Cup or whatever version - the electric seats could be binned for carbon buckets for a starter.
