Leccy cars
Leccy cars
So i must be getting old as ive ordered a leccy car.
Makes sense for me as a company car and its benefits, we are getting a charger installed at work as we will have 3 cars soon, also getting a charger fitted at home for those weekend top ups, hopefully i will be able to work out charging off my already installed solar panels on the roof of the house. Looking forward to have almost free motoring.
Going small mainly due to cost, so many option out there now and in the next year or so and we still have the VW T5 for the family chores. Test drove the BMW i3, really didnt like the regen being on all the time and the tech is a bit dated. ID3 was nice to drive but i couldn't live with the interior, seat we like 1980 Valour mazda, Im sure they will be out with a GTI/R soon enough, Mini only had 3 doors so no use with 2 young boys. So went for the Honda e, vtec NOOOOOOO, only had a short test drive with salesman in the car but i liked it. Roll on a few weeks.
I know there are a few more electric owners out there, let me know how long the Range anxiety lasts for?

Very cool - saw one in the flesh the other day.
It is sooo like the S reg Honda Civic my Mum (and Campbell when he learned to drive I think?) drove in the mid to late eighties - in frog green!! I believe it was styled to represent that.
Have fun!

Re: Leccy cars
The Honda is a cool looking car and probably the one I would go for.
If this comes out soon then you may be feeling a little bit like you should have waited

I’ve just signed up for Livi test drive. Been trying to get a shot for ages so quite excited.
Had a 48hour test drive of the Mokka EV and was really impressed with how it drove but 200 mile range was actually looking like 140/150 and I was being gentle on day 2 as day 1 had the battery at 40% for 55 miles. We have public chargers a street away from the house and already have solar panels so it’s inevitable that we’ll add an EV at some point just not sure which one.

So i had a quick look and had to shake my head at one of the features -
"Lead Car Departure Notification System which provides an audio and visual notification when the car in front starts up from standstill traffic."
Or you could look through the windscreen?

Now with half an engine

I'm signed up at 10am on the Friday in Livi. My existing Polestar is amazing but not sure I'm ready for electric quite yet! The wife might be mind!

Re: Leccy cars
I've had both the i3 and i3S. Thoroughly enjoyed them for what they were used for, which was mainly just commuting and local use. Pauline did use the i3S for her Dundee commutes which worked out well with Dundee being electric car friendly. I never really had any range anxiety issues and the original i3 probably had about the same range as the Honda does. It was always the car of choice when you just needed to jump in and go.
New Polestar 2 arrives on Monday. It's a bit more family friendly and the longer range will be useful.
