Northeast area

Post by tonyg » Wed Jul 07, 2021 5:08 pm

Decided to take the car out for a run, main destination was the Glenlivet, but was just heading in that general direction so i went down any road that took my fancy.
Unfortunately found a heap of roads where our glorious council has done the spray the chuckles on the top lark
Also on the way back the Huntly to Dufftown road was closed!!
Now with half an engine

I spotted you going though Elrick yesterday, I had been out to caravan at Grantown. I was lucky with the Dufftown road as it was open when I went up early in the morning, I came back over the Lecht and thought the same. That gravel must be so dangerous for the bikers, really bad in places, glad I was in the i3.

That's when you question the choice of sunglasses over a helmet in a 3-Eleven.
Personally I prefer the taste of granite gravel over the winter grit (too salty).

I headed to my folks in Aviemore a couple of weeks ago - B9119, as normal. Same, past Tarland through to Bellabeg - nightmare.

Heading that way tomorrow morning again, so probably the Huntly-Dufftown 🤔

I drove over Glenshee and back on Sunday and thankfully it was stone free. There had been a big stretch of resurfacing between Kintore and Echt done a few weeks back but the loose stones have now cleared.
