tough to choose just one from each manufacturer

Lotus S3 Exige V6 (tough call between this S1 Exige and K20 Elise but the V6 just works)
Ferrari 360 Spider
Lamborghini Gallardo Performante Spider
Porsche Taycan Turbo (wanted to hate this but its just mental)
Renault Clio Williams (introduced me to trackdays and only paid £1500, also had a V6 but it was mince))
Mitsubishi Evo 6 RS 500bhp (self built and ballistic)
BMW Z3M Coupe (didnt really fit in it)
Audi RS6 C7 (ticks every box)
Mercedes SLK55 AMG (crap gearbox but that engine :D)
Honda DC2 Integra type R (best fwd car Ive driven)
S1 Elige Audi 1.8T
S1 Elise Honda K20
VW T6.1 family bus

Jeez, cannot compete with most of these lists

Guess it’s about time, since I started this bloody thread!

Well here goes. Roughly chronological.

Renault 11 Turbo

Fiesta Mk1 XR2

Scirocco GT

Tigra 1.4 (yes really, small car with big car refinement)

Elise S1 (tied with Evora and Elise S3 but had S1 18 years so it had to be here )

Subaru Impreza P1 (edged the 22B but only just)

Focus Mk2 ST

MINI Clubman Cooper S

Audi TT Mk2 TDI Quattro (like the Tigra a small car with big car benefits and much better than folk give it credit for)

Octavia Mk3 vRS TDI DSG (amazing gearbox)

Also wanted to include Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9, 340R, Esprit GT3, 211, Impreza Turbo wagon, MINI Cooper hatch, Nova SRi, N3TUT S2 even though I could barely get the brakes warm, Leon Cupra ST, 911 GTS cabrio.

My list is very pants compared to most but, like the original EVO article’s contributors, it got me thinking and brought back some happy memories.

Glad it stirred up some forum action too. If you know of lurkers who haven’t posted their Top Ten yet, then give them a nudge …

Ok so with some thought and in no particular order;

• Caterham R400 - the one car I still genuinely regret selling

• Mercedes C32 AMG - understated and very quick wee family barge

• Audi RS6 - noise power and space (it also towed my Caterham trailer and caravan :damnfunny )

• Lancia Integrale - nearly bankrupted me in my early 20s but so glad I ran one for 5 years 😎

• Renault 5 GT Turbo - amazed I didn't crash this as was my first quick car

• Citroen ZX Volcane - seriously underrated family car when the kids were wee

• TVR Cerbera - way more competent than my Griffith 500 was

• Alfa Romeo Giulia Super 1750 - just love this thing - every drive is a true event 😍 and I've had other Alfas

• Bentley Continental GT - power and torque, and a whole heap of mass which you feel under brakes and round corners :damnfunny

• Porsche 996 Carrera - the only pork I've driven but even though it wasn't a fancy one I could sense what the fuss is about, need to try more :blackeye

Breaking the rules with #11 is a special mention of my first car, my '83 Mini Mayfair (this spec had reclining seats  ) which I adored - such fun in every way 😍

ETA - only two of these weren't owned by me

BMW M3 EVO E36 - first really quick car I drove at about 20 years old
Pug 205 Gti with Mi16 conversion - spent fortunes on this one
Ford Fiesta XR21 16v - my first car - loved it so much im trying to buy an old mk 3 fiesta XR/RS turbo....

Renault Clio Cup 200 - great car but I never really bonded with it
Honda Civic Type R EP3 - wrote that one off in a field outside Penicuik

Major faux pas - especially considering this forum - I've driven a couple of Loti, so should really chuck the Citroen off the list for a 340R which was slightly more eventful :blackeye :damnfunny
