Of course but I took it to the 24hrs in 2004 and 2006 - far too hot to wear :damnfunny

As this draws closer I'm now considering taking the Bentley for its fantastic long distance cruising ability (Dundee to south of Birmingham [C&M] in one go) and more importantly space for luggage :D

The question is - can the Elise manage 2 folk's gear for a week away? :blackeye

No tent or bed as that's supplied - just a bag for clothes and sleeping bag each..... :scratch

Previous experiences more than welcomed :thumbsup

ETA - I did hear about a protective sheet thing where you can strap a soft bag to the bootlid without damaging the paint - is this a thing?

:cheers

Have managed 2 weeks away more than once, Ross. And a week of summery weather would be a doddle.

Top tip - pack a few small bags (or even compression sacks) rather than a couple of large bags.

This enables you to max out all the wee nooks and crannies in the boot and cabin

Go for it !!

Thanks Campbell - kind of just needed this wee pep-talk / metaphorical boot up the chuff :damnfunny

Tree-lined French country roads in July in an Elise - don't get much better eh! 8)

Also the thing about the 160 is 5th is actually quite high geared so sitting at motorway speeds isn't horrendous :D

Planning the NC500 with a couple of ex-SEers beforehand so should be a good opportunity to iron out any niggles which may have developed over the winter little-use

Ross, I’ve got an Eliseparts boot rack for the S1. I’ve used it for going on the French Frolic, it allowed us to take clothes for a week and two crash helmets. You’re most welcome to borrow it if you want.

Cheers
Graham

How very kind of you Graham - I might just take you up on your generosity :blackeye

Decision made a lot easier now as the old Conti (4 years newer than the Elise to be fair) let me down by deciding to throw a suspension fault on the dash, followed by dumping the front end to the floor :blackeye - been led to believe it's not a horrendous fix, but would ruin a foreign trip! po'ed

I Ross,
For our road trip, each year we are on the road at 2 for 2 weeks, 2/3 of the trunck for Madame and 1/3 for me :D
We use vaccum bags and a little pump.
Usually we made a washing machine at the middle of the trip.
