A post on Fb reminded me of the King K essays.
So now, years later, what WAS the story?
Was an engine ever built? Did anyone ever get one?

I think it's something like there were two engines made that went reasonably well in competition. There didn't seem to be a high volume of customers so I think it remained moderately theoretical. Don't know for sure
