Isles of Glencoe Hotel

Post by tonkaman » Wed Nov 08, 2006 9:39 pm

Some of you will know the Isles of Glencoe from the SE and Tuttowers gentle cruises through the heather-lines roads.

I called by with the Dragon this weekend past, and stayed the night.

The hotel is now part of the Swallow group, and as such is under receivership at present.

Its slightly worn at the edges, but does represent good value in winter, at £25 per person per night including bubbly on arrival (OK spewmanti).

The plus side = cheap. The downside = Burberry brigaide have arrived to take advantage of much cheapness, bar is like a departure lounge.

Would be OK on a block booking methinks.

I felt alost nostalgic for November 1995, when Tut enganged my wife the Dragon in a marathon drinking and sexist banter session and attempted and executed a sublimely perfected grope techniques on her from every angle. Always a joy to watch a master at work.

It was used for Mexi Towers in June but it was more like £50 per person IIRC.

We ended up in the Ballachulish Hotel on Mexitowers, cant remember the reason, but yep it was 50 or 60 per person. Owned by the same group.

Yeah all Swallow hotels or out of city hotels gone into receivership - so any money welcome!
