Scottish Elises Wiki

The new Scottish Elises Wiki is now available here:
http://www.scottishelises.com/wiki/

The thinking behind this is that it will give us a place to store information such as Tech FAQs, links and anything we can think of. Also, we'll probably make this the scottishelises.com homepage in a few weeks time once we've had some feedback on it.

At the moment, there are only a few people with accounts on it. Everything should be available to view without logging in so an account isn't really necessary. Until we know how everyone thinks we can use the wiki, we've decided to set it so that you can't create a new account. If you want to add/edit any of the content, please PM either myself (simon), Shug (shug), Simon I (ironside) or Ed (Ed) and ask us to create an account for you.

We don't see this becoming a file storage place but it may be possible to add routes for the bigger runs that we do. We've only got a limited amount of disk space on the server so we don't want to go filling it up with pics and videos ;)

So please have a look and see what you think and post any feedback in this thread.

Cheers

Si.

And I've agreed with Shug to dig out earlier run reports, just haven't had much time to make progress on this. Please continue to nag though ;-)

Si,
not sure what the limitations are of wiki, but it would be good to have a list of local suppliers and their contact details like elise-friendly garages for MOT, servicing, tyre dealers etc.

would also be good to have a 'consumables' section for the non-experienced SE'rs for reviews on tyres etc.

i know the whole point of having a knowledge management system is to have concise information which is easy to find, therefore opening up the database to everyone would be suicide, but would we be able to set up topics on the forum to collect data etc - similar to the calendar format.
this ensure the valuable information doesnt get lost in the general discussion.

This would then at least reduce the mods input (slightly!) as it could almost be cut/paste

well thats my 2p!

We've all got pretty bloody busy recently, so apologies for the stall on the Wiki. If anyone wants to take an interest in updating please contact one of the mod team, as per Simon's post and we'll activate your account to add content.

I might have a go... my heids full of interesting drivel anyway..

Wonder where we stand on pulling out some of the best bits of the Forum and posting it in here. The Guru's always have something good to say and finding it again can be a pain. We could copy the good stuff and credit it to them possibly.... :?:
