S/C honda update
S/C honda update
As some of you know Ive been awaiting the arrival of my new lump for the last two weeks and it finally arrived yesterday. First thing was to cut off the excessive bubble wrap and recover the delicate throttle body and ecu. So off to a good start with a Kpro which saves me several hundred bucks and the next surprise was the ecu for a traction control system, another bonus. So started studying the engine and you know that saying "bitten off more than I can chew" well there very nearly were tears. Anyway after a fresh look at things today (and an exhaustive read last night) Im feeling much better. Dont know how many people are interested in this but if you like I can post pics as I go. Cheers Craig.
PS. Kenny do you know anything about type r traction control from race logic? Looks like it works by killing the injectors but must need wheel sensors, or abs sensors to detect wheel spin, sensors which I obviously dont have. Might have to remove it.

A bit, I'll have to go research that one as wellr10crw wrote:PS. Kenny do you know anything about type r traction control from race logic? I'll see what I can do.
Mr Hay, my technical knowledge sucks bottom but I know who gives good answers and where to find them.Rag_It wrote:read above as he knows fook all but will as he says find someone that does!

P.S ready to get your ass whoped on the kart track tomorrow Irvine.... just keep on the booze and i'll be fine as i have run out!
Ps, I'll beat you anytime, goes without saying.
My car is off the road now and in Craigs garage ready to be cloned. RAC Autowindscreens were around there today fitting a new one, he had hell of a job getting the old one out, and Craig had to take the front clam off competely, after angle grinding a couple of the bolt heads off.
We have now decided that it is a good time to start the rebuild, so he will take the lights etc off, and we will find a suitable place to embalm N1 TUT front. Rear clam will then come off, but that will go in the skip. Complete blue drivers door arrives tomorrow courtesy of eBay, and I already have a blue rollover bar cover, and bonnet and engine lids. That just leaves one sill for some fibreglassing, and the wheels to go into Mark in Inverurie for a complete makeover. A complete re-spray will be done by the local sprayshop, a young chap, but a perfectionist, who has already repaired parts of Verians TT twice now, and done an excellent job.
However compared to what Craig is taking on with his Honda conversion, ie without even the kit to start it with, mine is a doddle.

ps just getting the Car Bra out of its bag to give it some fresh air.

When you get all this done, how long do you expect it to stay that way?! Or are you about to change the driving habits of a lifetime

I have learnt a lot of lessons over the past seven years.
Dont hit deer.
Dont stop at road junctions in Italy with a German Elise up your rear.
Dont fall asleep after an 18 hour drive back from Stelvio and shake hands with the Armco.
Dont try for a new Class record at Doune in the rain, again unless you wish to shake hands with the Armco.
Dont spend a lot of your time as number two on road runs, mainly behind Scotty, but in general hooligans that spray you with road grit.
Most of this will change now, as the car will be living an easier life. But that does not mean that it will be driven any slower, certainly on the track, and I shall be wearing my Playtex Uplift Bra on the road runs, so I shall be safe from foreign objects assaulting my shiny virginal skin.

Yep it cuts fuel when it detects wheelspin, if you dont have ABS you will need wheel speed sensors.r10crw wrote:PS. Kenny do you know anything about type r traction control from race logic? Some info Here
Opinion is divided about it on the CTR forum, some think its great others think its pointless and the money would be better spent on fitting LSD.
