Scottish Elises

I bought a hardtop bag off ebay at the weekend and thought I'd post up to recommend the seller. Paid for it on Sunday (maybe Monday, can't remember!) and got it today. Tried it out tonight and it seems pretty well made and certainly strong enough for hanging the hard top up with.

Best bit about it is that it only cost me £52 including the postage.

He does them for S1 and S2.

If you have an S2 and bid on that one, mail the seller and let him know it's for a Mk2 Elise and he'll send that instead (that's what I did).

sweet.. i managed a genuine lotus one in mint condition for £75 inc post. looking at what they normally fetch i got a good deal.

Yeah the Lotus ones are over £150 new IIRC so this one for £52 new is a great buy IMO.

defo. your avatar confused me for a minute. i got an S1 roof bag. actually come to think of it is yours a long tail??

Mine's a short roof, Lotus don't do a long S2 hardtop, only the aftermarket ones are like that.

I was pretty pleased with the one I acquired a few years back from SJ Sportscars, slightly "shop soiled" (small tear in underside) but for £75 I wasn't concerned!!

The hardtop bag is suspended from custom shelf brackets fabricated at Sellafield's not very busy blacksmith workshop! The shelf they support runs round 50% of the wallspace, making the area above my sectional motorised door useable for storage Each bracket support is drilled to allow hooks to suspend odds and ends. My furry dice are kept on one of these, just out of shot, and my hairdyer is on another one of them too

The alloy rim is suspended from another custom bracket, made guess where, with an end plate which screws on to secure the wheel...not that it is going anywhere really! I've got all 4 of my spare rims mounted like this, again brings some good storage space into play.

I could get a job designing for IKEA at this rate - can you imagine, IKEA Garage Dept - you'd be able to buy things like "BAGKOVER", and "WHELBRAKT", or "AKSLSTUND", or even "TROLLJACK"
