F*@kin Lotus!!!!!!

Post by gordon » Tue Oct 11, 2005 11:12 pm

Rant mode on.

Rite, i hate my car. Spent a fortune on it recently, new tyres, geo, modified suspention brackets, full set of pads and fluid, service, even gave it a coat of polish!!!. It feels like i'm never done fixing the bloody thing. SO haven't driven it for 3 weeks, open door, seat/floor is soaked with water. Adjusted roof again so it's perfectly in line at both sides, now it drips water evenly at both sides. Need to adjust the windows AGAIN!!!! So try and start it, battery's flat. No probs, sorted that. Go to the gym for a run, seems to be going well. Come home round a left hander, big flood on apex, car coming other way, have to take to puddle, car about stopped dead!! Get to the petrol station and find the water has been thrown up with such force it's went into the haedlamp and not just blown the bulb, but shattered it. So i've spend hours and a good few££ recently, think the car's near perfect, then it goes and pi$$es in water and now i've gotta try and fish broken bulb bits and dirty water out the headlamp and try and fit in a 70hr week at work. I hate Cars

Rant over.

Nice rant...!

Mind you if you`re leaving it for 3wks at a time, one of those roof cover things might be good?

Yousure you hate it though? I've been pissed off a few times in the last 6 months but its still fun!

Aye, it is good fun to drive. Just want to actually drive it and stop spending time working on it. Might be that time of year to put the hardtop on <shock> Never usually leave it that long, been on holiday and been busy at work. Dinnae worry, all my probs will go in a weeks time when i hit the track again. :D

Could be worse. Next time your talking to Simon Ironside ask him about the effects of cold water on hot glass

I think that is where the 111s headlamp covers come in handy.

And as for the leaks - there is one simple cure for them - Buy and exige or a S2.

Although what JJ says is right. I'm lucky to be able to store it under a carport, therefore hardly ever use the roof. If you gotta store it in the open, i'd heartily advise a showercape and fit it over the roof. There's no chance of a leak then and you don't have to f**k about with adjusting windows, etc.

Oh and if it helps, my recent (and forthcoming) bills for the liz include:

Remote Stat
Oil Cooler
Oil
4 x tyres
2 x front discs
Coolant
Throttle cable
Light switches

and maybe a CR box, if Neil is gonna chop the engine for a Linda.

....I wonder why I'm poor....

Mac
my S2 leaks when the car is moving or it's windy!

there must be bugger all tolerance in the window seal, i think the glass is bearly touching the seal at the top even with the window as far up as it'll go!

ho hum - it's still better than a people carrier! lol
