Did we have the "worst" New Year of All???

Post by Karen » Mon Jan 01, 2007 5:41 pm

Due to bad weather our return flight from Tenerife to Glasgow on New Years Eve was diverted to Mancehster! Stuck on a bus back to Glasgow due to the high winds we found ourselves at Penrith at the midnight hour surrounded by non alcohol drinking people (due to the law) and talking to Simon Arnot on his mobile who was drinking Tequilla and dressed as Super Man allegedly! I hope he had a hang over this morning as he sounded like he was going to have one! I hope Lorraine managed to drive him home today and that Gareth, Emily and Matilda survived the SE invasion of their home on New Years Eve last night and that everyone that went along dressed as their "Super Hero" had a great time! How jealous were Derek and I of you guys last night when we heard your voices on the mobile!!! We wished we could have been there rather than on a bus full of 47 "others"!
Happy New Year to one and all!

Unlucky.....

We sat in London HTW watching the weather news in Scotland at 1800 on hogmanay. We booked - for not many good reasons - to go back to ediburgh, instead of GLA - gf lives in GLA.

In the end we landed successfully in EDI in 80mph winds - quote pilot!!! The plane was swaying about badly even after we had parked up. So grateful the pilots managed!! 8)

Both cars were dodgy on arrival back home though - nearly didnt make the journey to GLA for the bells at the in laws....

Ahhh, poor Meldrums!
Should of been at ours! A night that started slowly until the mad mexican brought out the tequila. 1st bottle polished off pretty quick...2 shots in and Mr Arnot ws heard saying...."L L L Lor Lorraine...yy y y you're driving home tomorrow..." :D

We also had a power cut in Arbroath, ended up being a great laugh. Amazing how quick the drink flows when the only distraction is a flickering candle.

Was at Louise's parents for New Year.

I have had a cold for weeks, and felt really rough on Hogmany evening. Only had one glass of wine with dinner, but by 11 PM felt cr@p so went to bed. Had a terrible night's sleep, and by 2AM had very painfull ear infection. By 9 AM was in the local hospital  Felt like some one was hamering a rusty nail into the side of my head. Not fair as I had only had one glass of wine! Now on anitbiotics & painkillers.

Yesterday was mostly  :? :tired :tard :puke :tired :tard :? :tard :tired .

Glad to say I'm feeling better today.

Well i went out at 5pm for "a drink or two" and ended up turning up at the Tunnel where my gf was working rather worse for wear about half eleven.

Then went to the Academy and realised that compared to that lot i was absolutely fine

Spent the bells with Kate Lawler tho. Dribble 8)
