Not had the flu as such, but ended up in hosp (docs shut) on jan 1st at 9am, with ear & chest infection. I have had a cold for weeks, and now on antibiotics, and still not 100% I have been having a really quiet time the past few weeks, taking loads of cold/flu remedies, loads of sleep and rest, and still not totally better. Getting fed up of it now  . Roll on spring time.

My Mum ended up in hospital with pneumonia before Christmas as she had let her chest infection go on too long .

I hear garlic is very good for colds and chest problems . Hope you all feel better soon.

Never mind the flu, get my new rear subframe on, sort out the brake pipes, wheel bearing change etc, new bodywork on, and back on the road. Oh and it needs an MOT before I can tax it.

Bloody youngsters nowadays have no staying power. There I was in the Borneo jungle, upto my neck in muck and bullets, bull leeches down my bell end taking pints of blood, full blown malaria, but still able to fight off the 20ft python that was trying to have me for dinner........

You should do Neil...........

Borneo Jungle, 1963 during the war with Indonesia, 3 Section, 5 Troop, B Company, 40 Commando RM.

I was a Section Commander then, and these were the rest of my Marines. Three never made it back home, and that was the start of my scrambled brains.

ps It was shortly after this photo that we were ambushed, one killed, two wounded, all pulled out by Helicopter. At least three of us had the satisfaction of going back in a few weeks later, and by then HQ had found the camp of the Indo unit that had hit us.

We carried out a night attack and wiped them out, but by then I had had enough, went back to the UK, and started my Helicopter Pilot training.

Auditioning for "ain't half hot mum"?

Seriously though - at 23 I think most of the guys here are/were only concerned with making cash and getting drunk at the weekends.
