Just cancelled my breakdown repair cover

Got my AA renewal in the other day and at £65 for the breakdown repair cover (used to be called parts and labour) I just felt it wasn't worth it. I got it initially because ot the much overhyped unreliability of the K-series, but in two years I haven't used it.
Plus you've got to show a full service history, which since my service book got soaked and dried into a rock, that might be a bit tricky to do.
Gonna keep the roadside cover at £40 tho cause it's not like you can tow the Elise anywhere.
Anyone else (besides Tut) had their money's worth out of the parts and labour cover?

I too had the p&L when I had my S1 and never used it. I cancelled it infact when I changed cars, but the breakdown part of it has been invaluable, moved the M coupe to a garage on a flatbed when it lunched its waterpump, changed a wheel on the van, and also on the williams when it broke.
Will definately be renewing next month.

You do not have to show a full service history, just an invoice showing your last service that conforms with service intervals, and in fact need show no more than oil and filter change. They are not interested in your Elise service book.
If you had the cover, why did you not use it for your breakdown?

Claimed suspension off them and summit else, the bounced my bearings chat which I still have to challenge.

Mine paid for itself for ages in one claim. Runs out this year as my car is 10 in Aug!

Have a look at the cover you can get through Moneysupermarket.
I get the whole lot ex P&L for £45 for both Gillian and I.

If you are already with the AA for parts and labour, your cover continues regardless of the 10 year or 100,000 mile limit.
Mine is over 10 years now with 145,000 miles.

Hmm Just about to buy a 98k Volvo that is less than 10 years so I coudl get that covered ? Hmmm

Interesting... How about renewal time?
Would be nice for when my engine lets go. Lets face it, 51k miles, diy head of dubious quiality and a cooling system on the blink, it won't be that long!

Think gordon was or del is the man for that but if you phone up and haggle you tend to get a great deal!
