Doctor in the house?Kidney/renal system advice.NLC

Post by Stu160 » Sun Jan 21, 2007 11:50 pm

Hi

Anne is in hopsital just now, having the above checked out.

To give you a breif story so far,it all started a xmas, not feeling 100%,with sore joints, feet hands and back, which went away, then 10 days ago,she came out in a red rash, stating at her back, and spread all over her body, legs and arms. She went to the doctor and he said it was the virus that was going about,it will go away in a week.
No medication was given.
She then started to get sore heads, and could not sleep well,on wed,her legs and hands started to swell, and the ash came back for a few hours and went away, and she has continued to retain water since.and has gone from 10st to 11st4lb in just over a week.
Very few of her cloth,s fit her and she was sick twice on Thursday, due to a sore head I think.Friday not any better, and very swollen at night.
Sat morning ,her face was like a football .....that was the last straw for me and I phoned NHS24 and took her up at 1 pm,docto looked her over and done a few tests,+3 blood in her urine and +1 protein I think.Blood pressure up a wee bit ,but not high. She called the medics, and she was admitted to the hostpital.
More bloods taken, and the doctor has said he is not sure what is going on,whether it is a virus,or a kidney problem, and had to keep her in to monday at least.
She is OK,still bloated, and putting on weight,at night mostly, and is really Pi$$ed off sitting about in hospital :(

Any advice??

Another point,Steven also has a red rash ,which comes and goes, all over his body, but mostly on his cheeks, arms and legs.He has had it since tuesday, took him to the doctor,Virus......no medication, and he still has it.
I am going to phone the doctor in the morning ,and ask for blood tests to check him, could it be linked?

I am only asking cause I may have to do the ironing

Just read this Stu, so hope that by now Anne is improving and that they have pinned down the problem.

Just make sure that they give you all the help that you need to get her back to normal.

All the best

Hi All

Thanks for your words,I think she is on the mend.

Update on todays events.

She had more blood tests, and an ultrasound, which showed her Gallbladder was a bit swollen, and all the other "bits"were ok.
No stones, and the doctor said that it may all be due the virus that she has had.
The Kidney doctor will see her tomorrow, and check her over, and all going well she will get home.

I will post an update tomorrow

Glad to hear Anne is on the mend, how is Steven?

Last year my friend's son took unwell and he didn't get much response from the doctor. The boy got worse that night and he phoned NHS24 and ended up getting a doctor out who rushed the boy to hospital. Turned out he had menangitis and it was touch and go for a while. Luckily he did recover and follow up tests seem to show no long term damage, though there was short term damage. Nothing is more important than our Health.

Hope all is back to normal soon.
