I'll have a ask around

But i would be tempted to get a 300 instead but it might be a wee bit heavy for an elise

Am afraid not but am with Thinfourth on the 300 series. Slot in, slot out as I understand it.

The going rate for a recon is about £800. E-Bay

What you got planned?

It's not for me... it's for a friend... honest guv!

A mate has been given a landy which is sound apart from the engine apparently so he wants to put a new one in it.... I think he already has a couple of old/classic defenders already...

I dunno... see these people that are obsessed with cars!

The ancillaries on Discovery engines are in different places to those on Defender engines (the turbo infact) - not a straight forward swap. He may want to bear that in mind, if he doesn't already know.

Presumably a recon engine from a Disco could be put in with the mountings etc for the peripherals being taken from the damaged unit. Never done it but the base castings for the top and bottom ends are presumably the same :?: :?: :?:
