I was filling up with Optimax at the end of last week and there was a smell of day-old seafood/salty water. I thought maybe a fish van had been at the pump before me.
However, I have since opened my fuel cap for a sniff, and my tank smells fishy now...so it must have been the petrol.
Anyone any idea what's happened?

Greg - don't know to be honest

I thought the ECU just did it's thing continuously monitoring the mixture to avoid knock.
I have used Optimax since I bought the CTR new in 2004, and never smelled rotten fish before.
Is it just this new V-power stuff that is getting the Copydex treatment?

reason I asked mate, is if you're on a yota engine you'll be running Optimax as it makes a difference. If you're running a K-series, there's no point, ergo don't put in optimax and the fishy smell should fade

Beggs the question.... what were you doing having 'a wee sniff at the petrol tank'??
S'pose fishy petrol is better than fishy anything else
