Got a letter from a betting company last week thanking me for opening an account...disregarded it as junk mail.
Checked my account today. Some fcuk has withdrawn £900 from my account via this betting company!!!

Sh!t mate, thats not good. I take it that you have reported it to the bank and the betting company?
Did you win?

That would annoy mister scammer, to have all his winnings dropped back into your account!
Hope its sorted soon

I'd like to see them try that with me... All of £70 in my account (tops) at any one time!
Sorry to hear that G - get on to the bank pronto and ask them how this could possibly have happened

I had a similar experience 2 years ago. My account had £1800 taken out over 3 months. Taught me to open my statements rather than throw them in the drawer. It was the bank that contacted me as they noticed 'unusual activity' on my account.
The whole lot was paid back into my account within 24 hours. I was asked to fill in a fairly straightforward form and that was the end of it. So hopefully you should be ok.
That was with Lloyds TSB.

Funny that. It does often happen at point of sale.
Few months ago, one of our business credit cards had a whole lot of stuff bought on it - flights to New York, TVs. Its only ever used for fuel (75% of the time from the same petrol station) and it turned out that someone there has been making a habit of it.
Its too easy for them!

Harsh luck Gareth
I had £900 taken out of cash machines in Glasgow when my card was safely in my wallet. The bank should sort it out pretty soon unless you are with HBOS who are a pile of wank, who said it would be 6 weeks before the would consider giving me MY money back.
Someone from here advised me to email my complaints to the CEO by guessing their email address. I did and it was sorted out the next day!
