We've got a mouse. Mickey to his friends.

Think he just moved in recently, spotted in the kitchen tonight, making rapid exit towards access hole behind our dishwasher. Naturally once dealt with I'll block that up, but meantime, other than cliche of cheese-filled traps, what's my best approach to eradicating? Where do I get my "equipment" - Homebase, etc?!

TIA!

I got a couple of mouse traps out of B&Q and slapped a bit of peanut butter on them and placed them in my Gargage. Less than 20 minutes later my Chocolate biscuit thief was dead  Thought there was more but seems he was the sole thief as not seen any other since then

don't he will end up hiding in your fridge with a 12bore waiting to blow away little mousy and your dishwasher

Apparently, Milky Ways are favourite substance to put on the traps.

dairy milks worked for me - killed 6 in 2 nights :D

Remember, 'humane' traps are only so if you remember to empty the buggers out of them ;)

My old cottage used to get loads of field mice in winter. Chips, smeared with peanut butter used to work for me. Any traps with cheese never seemed to work.

Put 6 out on a lunch time, went out... came back at teatime, 5 had sprung with 4 of them 'direct hits'. The out-house was just as bad... my rabbits used to harbour them I'm sure...

We used humane traps in my parents last house. We caught them then took them up the garden with the dogs and raced them back to the house....

If they ran straight then they never made it, chopm, gulp, no mess and v quick. If they made a turn, the dogs fell over each other in a heap and mr mousy got another bit of choccy biccy and another go the next day.

Suppose thats called blood sport now

S'ok I am a big boy and quite worldly wise in some things. Eg mice never arrive alone. They always have that wee sack tied onto their walking pole slung over their shoulder like in Tom & Jerry :-)
