Could not stomach £150 for a airbox, daydreaming and spare time were the culprits.

http://prasad.it/misc/naf/index.htm

Car seems quieter on the drive to work from Edin to Livi, no more ear plugs.

Seems to pull better between 3000 & 4000 and would be happy with better mpg as it is the commuting car till I find a diesel. First week of running it so time will tell on the mpg front.

Plenty of placebo taken three times a day before meals.

Are you looking for your MPG to go up or down?

Cold air is better for performance, Warm/Hot air is better for economy.

Unfortunatly it's an either or.

Cheers

Love the stickers left on the Nescafe tin for effect. Top diy-ing!

Disappointed not to have the blub blub noise a perculator/TVR makes.

After ignoring two outlook reminders I have finally popped the NAF off to clean the filter. 9 months of crap and must be down on power.

The fluid marks on the pipe form the NAF to the TB does worry me though. I assume this is from water being sucked in down the pipe work. Thoughts ?

The huzza has a little hole in it to let the water drain, prolly a good idea....

Doesn't look too bad, my old hurricane once had the drain hole blocked and was level with crap about half way up (Aberdeenshire fields, various leaves, insects and small animals...). That was after 3 months...

Yup, pop a couple of holes in it. Not to big or the beans will fall out when you shake it like 'Gareth' (not new dad Gareth!). :D

Cheers,
Ali

I KNOW!!!!
Now why would water stain ? could the residue on the pipe be from the engine side rather than the NAF side?

Nope, nothing coming back up. That is dirt that has got past the filter

NAF is definatly in need of a clean. You did oil it last time didn't you?!?

The inside of the filter was perfectly clean as seen below. My concern is the fluid residue on the pipe fomr the filter to the engine.
