Promise this is the last!

An amazing place with amazing people. The poverty, however, can be difficult to handle.

On a lighter note, the duty free when leaving the country had an amazing assortment of goods which included;

A standard lamp
An office chair with wheels
A large jar of Coffee
and two large bottles of ketchup :shock:

and very little else. Not to worry, off again in a couple of weeks - roll on the subsistance claim 8)

Rossatron - Was over there on behalf of Glasgow city and as an academic exchange programme. Been over a couple of times and other areas of the UAE. It was China last year. Great people but we need an escort everywhere we go because there is a £15k bounty on 'us' at the mo. Having an armed escort at dinner etc does look kinda cool in a " we are obviously worth killing/ kidnapping" kind of way. We had a wonderful meal in a very remote area where they closed off a street and posted armed gurds at each end of the table and at the end of the streets. Big table with white (sic) tablecloth and garlands......or as i called it at the time...a bomb magnet :shock:

Good trip, looking forward to going back in couple of weeks.

Reminds me of parts of Bradford I visited by mistake yesterday.

(TomTom route to avoid M62 west bound car park)

The only thing that's missing from your pics are Lines of Project Kahn Range Rovers mixing it with Halal Grocers :wink:

I had to go to blackburn to pick up my CR box and the only shops on the high st were cashconverters (3 of them) and kebab shops. I did not feel happy withdrawing £300 and walking back through town... :shock:
