Hi troops,
Does anybody know if the JM Groups (Murray Motors) bodyshop in Wallyford, Edinburgh is on the approved repairer list for Elephant.co.uk the insurers. After a bump (had the car 2 weeks

) they are trying to palm me off to Machargs in Robroyston but I want the job done properly as it's a new front clam job.
Just been on to Elephant and they are trying to say it's not approved, even though they work on Lotuses and Aston Martins day in day out.
Need some ammo so I can go back on the phone to elephant tomorrow and give them hell!

I asked for "Wally"ford to repair my old Elise for the reasons you state above.
I was wrong!
In future I will only use the factory for any bodywork repair. It's well worth the visit.

I had some work done (not a Lotus) at Duddingston Coachworks in Edinburgh (Porsche Approved... or at least they were). They were an approved repairer for Aegon, and their work was top notch.
I'd use them again in a flash.

It's like pulling teeth with this claim, I seem to be doing all the leg work while the insurance company/ bodyshop sit on their a**e. I have previously made a claim with elephant in the past and it was a great experience, this is just doing my head in though. I just want my fecking new car back to the way it was!!!

I second that - used them to "repair" my BMW a couple years ago. It had to go back to get done properly and then I discovered they had forgot to replace the aero undertray at the front of the car. They had thrown it away so had to then order me a new one from BMW. I wouldnt let them near the car to fit it.
Total hassle.

and then 1 year later the "repair" started rusting. Total idiots AVOID AVOID AVOID AVOID.
Did I say AVOID already?

My car went to JM in Perth for repair in early Jan - not started yet as still waiting for parts, after speaking to Lotus customer Servide in mid Feb I discovered missing parts weren't on order as parts dept at JM screwed up. I spoke to Lotus again yesterday they sorted delivery for Mon 26th and phoned garage to tell them!! Car went to Perth as I didn't want it to go to Wallyford after previous minor repair required car go back to them twice to get sorted.
Murray are good for car sales and nothing else IMHO !! Keith

im getting mine done at Steve Walkers Bodyshop in Bathgate - lots of experience with Loti and quite a few people recommend them so that will do for me
I thought you could insist on any repair shop doing the repair not just the insurance companies recommended repairers??
Im with A-plan and they wanted to use Nationwide but I said I wanted to use Stecve Walker and they are fine with it as long as they had a written quotation

Wallyford can't even fix 'ordinary' cars. Someone nudged my tin-top's rear bumper at traffic lights couple years back...
...they initially tried to give me the car back with a still very obviously bent, cracked and misaligned bumper

I was incredulous, but they thought I was being fussy!
Wonder what sort of job they do on Rolls Royces?!

My experience with JM repair centre in Pert (part of the MM group) has fcuked me up forever.
Now I no longer expect of believe that a car's paint will be ever perfect. I just will never bother again with waxing for ex., on any car.
Don't know about Wallyford, but find it hard to believe that any bodyshop can be good now. Will take lots of time with a shrink to fix my traumas now
They were that useless.
Good luck with your repairs!
