Just wish they would put income tax up instead all the stealth taxes

But income tax increases wont punish 4x4 drivers
It's not a stealth tax anyway, it's an enviromental tax. Did you not know taxing people reduces CO2 levels.

Any accountants or mind readers out there who can work out what the change is likely to do the Road Tax on my Landy.
As far as I can see it should not make too much difference because it is pre March 2001.
I’ll have to work it out this afternoon because it is due at the end of the month and I could pop out and get a new tax disk this afternoon if it is going to save me a lump of cash. The treasury report says that the rates go up from tomorrow so no time to waste.

Looked again and think it has gone up £5.
Anybody think differently?
Not going to run around for a fiver.

Might even make a difference if they were imposing it on the USA

I would guess that Brian is talking about his 3.0litre Xtype and the 350Z.
edited - checked via google, Band G is any car putting out over 225gms of whatever it is per km, toyota cars are 208gms / km. Rover cars are a pretty low 163gms/km.

Asking a stupid question here but does this only apply to company car drivers or with people without a company car have the road tax increased as well?

The CO2 emissions are used to work out how much both people pay - I am not that up on how they work it out for co. car drivers, but the amount of CO2 your car puts out is on the V5 so your road tax will be calculated on that basis (if its a post2001 car).

Are they? Even at 1.8L?
Seems a bit rough to be in the same bracket as Hummers and Rangerovers

Looks like I am shafted then as both the Lotus/Evo are post 2001. Was hoping it was only for company car drivers.
Cheers
