Bugger, I completely forgot that I said I would take my girlfriend away for a night or two this weekend

I'm thinking somewhere up north, ideally scenic, tranquil blah blah blah

any ideas of somewhere 'romantic'?

and no, before any one comments, I'm not asking 'the' question!

(it would of course be a bonus if there were some good roads on the way  )

Was up in the North West a couple of weeks ago and stayed at the pool house hotel.

Fantastic roads and scenery 8) .

Very romantic (if you like that sort of thing :puke ).
Only problem is that it might be booked solid for the holiday weekend.

McDonald Forest Hills Hotel mate - right by the Duke's pass! Not far from Loch Lomond and the scenery is top notch. Its by Aberfoyle. They may have a few deals on at the mo... Food was great, rooms not too bad for the money.

Also - Cameron House? That's on the banks of Loch Lomond.

Royal Marine Hotel in Brora.

http://www.highlandescape.com/

Access to incredible roads, scenery, beaches, golf courses, and a great restaurant and Spa setup too.

We used to be regulars until Eilidh came along...and once J2 is bedded in, we will be getting back there for sure!

Also have luxury apartments to rent. Potential base for "Scottish Elises Posh Tour plus Golf and Family Content" some year ;-)
