New mirror - any suggestions?

Any suggestions on which rear view mirror to replace the OEM one with? I want something nice and small, but not sh*t looking either. Probably a wee oval one that doesn't look like it belongs on a surgeons head would be good. :D

dr_al has recommended getting one from a Matiz - they are small and oval. Keep meaning to swing by the jap breakers in Govan and pick some up - if I find some I will buy a few for SE`ers?

Sounds good to me. I'd be up for that. :thumbsup

I'll call my local Daewoo dealer on Monday and see how much they charge for one. :D

dr_als bit says it doesnt work for 111r/ Exige . Al, is it a matter of it not fitting / fits to windscreen a different way or have you not been able to try it?

Car is at home and I am at work so cant check....

I find my mirror a real pain 6'1" and right in my line of sight. What's the legal side of just removing it Franco style -Gumball Rally '76

Franco: And now my friend, the first-a rule of Italian driving.
[Franco rips off his rear-view mirror and throws it out of the car]
Franco: What's-a behind me is not important.

i dont have one its not required as long as you have door mirrors

ie look at vans without rear windows

IIRC you have to have at least 2, rear view and one wing, or 2 wing.

That might be rubbish though....

Also, the existing mirror can be re-tightened with a small allen key (something like 2 or 3mm) One bolt on the mount itself which stops the rattling and there is also one in the pivot at the top - allows you to swing the mirror up so that it touches the screen frame at the top and if you tighten it there, it keeps it there.

Mine has been there for ages now without moving, despite the attentions of my previous dampers (which damped nothing  )
