find a reg plate

I am looking for a private reg, but none of the selling agents have it listed.

I am sure that the reg has been on a car at some stage but it must be have been scraped.

I called the dvla but the girl I spoke to said she was not sure.

Any pointers on how to find a reg plate?

There was a DVLA page where you could check a plate see if it has an MOT and Tax.

Find a friendly plod see if they will do a vehicle check...

Try this Scott

Type the reg into the bit that says "Make sure that a car isn't stolen, written off or has outstanding finance, all for only £24.99" and it gives you the make & model for free :D

mate, google the reg and put 'number plate' next to it. If its for sale, then you'll find it :)

If you ring the DVLA they will add it to their next auction if there is enough interest...

http://www.businessdata.co.uk/car-check.html

Tells you what the car is at no cost (if the plate exists). £9.95 gets you the rest of the info.

There is a guy who posts on pistonheads who might be worth emailing-

http://www.cherishedmarks.net/

Knows a lot about the game. My Dad got a copper cousing of his to find him JKE11Y which he later bought but apparently that is frowned upon now (this was in the 80s).
