FergusD once again..
..well done to Fergus for another class win at Fintray yesterday.
Despite, how shall we say, missing the apex at the hairpin on timed run number 2, run one was enough to take the class win.
congrats again

Mr D was 'pushing the limits of adhesion' and merely came in a bit deep. Loads of run off, he just ran on a bit before reversing out and continuing on his way.Dominic wrote:Sounds like a story to be told?tuscan_thunder wrote:

To appear on Sunday, a day down on his competitors, in tricky conditions and to take a class win with only two practice runs and a single timed run is rather impressive.

Cheers, enjoyable day, you marshall blokes and blokettes must be immune to the cold and damp . . . your efforts are much appreciatedtuscan_thunder wrote:..well done to Fergus for another class win at Fintray yesterday.

Yeah, timed run 1 was a banker, timed run 2 was feeling much more committed and was, up until the hairpin, the smoothest run I had done all day . . . I carried a lot of speed through combine, as it turned out perhaps too much and I simply braked way too late (the flickering shift light was the warning as that was the first time I'd seen it there), I was having issues finding a good compromise brake balance as lower down the course I was getting good solid braking, but that hairpin and it's entry are sooooo slippy and dark making it difficult to lock onto a braking marker . . . thankfully self preservation automatically kicked in and aborted the run for me by driving down the escape road, rather than trying to turn in which would have resulted in a tree/car issue I think . . .
Throttle steering round Combine made my day every time I went round it
