JJ and the 2ubular- thanks!

Post by Meenrod » Mon May 14, 2007 9:12 am

Yo,

Just wanted to say thanks to JJ for fitting the 2ubular zorst to my S2 Exige yesterday, what a star. Having estimated an hour to get the old one off and the new one on, 2 hours later we were beaten by crappy rusty old Lotus fixings on the undertray not wanting to be removed. 1 cup of coffee later followed by some WD40 and a large hammer and we were off!

2bular going on was a doddle, and with some trepidation I turned the key... my God it's LOUD! Having gone from a stealth mobile sneaking about it now sounds like an F1 car... I was stopped twice yesterday in Edinburgh city centre by the boys in blue for a routine 'check'- not too sure how long I can put up with this commuting to Perth from Edinburgh everyday, so if anyone wants to swap a stage 2 2ubular for a stage 1 let me know...

Or I could stop being a wuss and get some ear plugs. Mmm...

I wonder if the cops thought you were me!?
What did they check/do when they pulled you?

Yeah, i found that the lotus stage two was too much for me also. Got a load of earplugs of ebay which did the job. It does sound awesome though. Dont you have the ultra rather than the stage 2? The 2bular stage 2 was perfect for me, no drones but nice and fruity when on cam. :)

Yup, you're right I've got the 2ubular Ultra, I think earplugs are a must... however, the GF has final say in all these matters!

Maybe... I was doing about 40mph up Leith Walk around 11pm last night when they pulled me over. Got a ticking off for my speed, the size of the front number plate (3/4 size) and my 'illegal sounding' exhaust. Did a number plate check and discovered my dirty little secret- I have an ASBO for speeding  so then they really gave me a grilling as under the terms of the ASBO if I'm caught speeding again they can seize the vehicle... lukcy for me they felt some compassion after I started crying and they let me go.

Does that make up for having got 18k out of a set of Potenza's then?!

Ha ha.

Unfortunately I was late picking up a colleague from Edinburgh Airport so put the foot down one morning. Didn't realise the boys in blue were in a layby and then didn't notice them for nearly 2 miles as they chased me through Wester Hailes. They presumed I was running but when I explained to them I can't see anything out the back window they let off a bit.

They said I set the gun off but was going 'too quick' to get a reading so it came back as an error.
They then gave persuit to get me on video but I was veering in and out of traffic too much to get it on film. Basically when they eventually pulled me over (I didn't even hear the siren over the Eagles- Hotel California) they said the only option was to issue a 12 month ASBO

Needless to say I am ashamed and have learned my lesson.

Shock horror, wonder if I am in line for an ASBO.

Can see the headlines now:-

"66 year old disabled War Pensioner hooligan clocked at 98mph on M1. Claimed that he was actually doing 156, as he was incontinent and needed to find a toilet.

The police officer initially claimed that he was attacked by the pensioner, but then realised that I was just trying to climb out of the car with the roof on for the first time, and tripped over his feet. He then checked the speedometer and pointed out that it was calibrated in km/hr.

30 mins later, with a bemused expression on their faces, they drove away shaking their heads."
