I have some nice people in Norway who do my CFD, also used these guys in Aberdeen...

More for subsea thermal performance/flow assurance rather than aerodynamics...thinking of adding a Gurney flap?

We have a graduate engineer currently doing some analysis with Ansys CFX. Software + licence cost £25K so it's a bit specialised. What sort of analysis do you need performed ?

You have to be impressed at the speed the most obscure question here is answered. I genuinely expected when I opened this thread to see an answer, probably involving several equations, almost certainly written by Robin :lol:

What capacity are the A/C units?

Have you considered cooling the server cabinets rather than the room air?

I would chill the racks myself stick a dirty great duct into the suction side of the cabinet and then exhaust to the room then have a fan drawing air out of the room.

It is in scotland we are talking about so your max air temp outside will never be that high so it might be more efficient to move a large volume of air rather then to try and pump heat around which is inherently inefficient. How easy it is to move large volumes of air though depends on how your existing ducting works.

Only big electrics i have been involved with that needed major cooling was liquid cooled using a central cooling system but i don't think this would work too well with server racks, unless you used oil which you then cooled in some rads outside. Though it might be a good idea if designing from scratch as you can move way more heat around using a fluid

I think he should be giving us a percentage of his wages
