Went to se the Foo Fighters in Glasgow last night (bloody superb

) and on the way there just before J15 on the M8, I'd swear I saw a SPECS camera on one of the gantries. Anyone know what they are?

Actually, I just noticed the dates on that site and it's ancient so I'm no wiser as to what it was.
Did look like SPECS tho.

Thats what I thought as there have been 2 speed cameras in Bellshill for years and that site only lists one. I reckon the M8 infra red cameras it mention were the one a few years ago on wee trailers at the side of the motorway which used to give a readout of your speed.

Nope
IainF's correct. They occasionally place a trailer which can display all types of information.
Few years passed it was used to control the speed in that area, using those cameras. Was quite amussing really.
1st week it displayed a speed in MPH
2nd week it displayed number plates
3rd week it display both speed & number plate (at which point folk started trying to get the highest speed)
4th week was the same as the third except they added the word FINED! and that's when the NIP's started to flood through the doors.
By the 5th week you hardly saw a number plate on it.
Can't say you weren't warned about it.
Cheers
Mac
