Insurance, legalised robbery?

Here's my rant.

I'm having lots aggro with my insurance company at the moment having had an incident of the car rolling down a hill sort. However, the latest I was hit with today is the current market value of my car according to their "book" price, £7995 for a 2001 S2.

Where the feck to they get their "book" price from especially since I have not seen another one for sale at any less than £11500 for a dog.

Is there any way I can challenge this??

Admiral, however so far my biggest problem would appear to be the assessors in that they want to right the car off for the sake of a replacement rear clam. Nightmare :(

Get adverts from MMC if they have any similar age cars too. Admiral are a bunch of fcukers when it comes to claims, hope you get it sorted. £8k is taking the utter piss! :(

I was with Admiral, has taken 7 month to get a cheque out of them. They say they use Glasses Guide, and valuation from the month of the accident.
But when I spoke to the claims department, she was on Autotrader trying to find a similar spec car. Which she couldn't fine 'cos the search she was using was to narrow. "I was being kind to you by only putting in 20,000 miles" :ROFL I was then offered a silly amount. I pointed out a load of cars around the same spec, and commented they were all at least £1500 more than she had just offered, AND that was todays price, NOT 7 months ago. :x New offer came 3 weeks later, and would you belive it was £1500 more!
So, lost about £1000 on the price I paid 7 mounth previous to that Didn't think it was that bad concidering all the fun and adventure I had in it :drive

Mine just probably needed a front clam and some T-cut  but they wrote it off. Stick with it, remind them that you are their customer, and they should have your best interests in mind, and if all else fails mention the Finacial Ombudsman Services :thumbsup

I`d best not tell you what I paid for mine then.....

But going from past experience like folk have said, pick out the dreamers who are after silly money like the £15k sports tourers and fire them off to your insurance co.

Its a game. :D

My no claims has been mirrored twice once onto the Elise and again on the 924, so I have 5 years no claims unattached to a car....
