Ok so i finally figured it out.....
Not only are the roads/potholes/speedbumps/stones/small animals etc out to damage our beloved cars so is the gorgeous scottish weather!
Downpour today,
heavy heavy rain and i go to start my engine up after a good hour sitting in it and it sounded like the engine was about to explode - hit the gas and this all disappeared but my god it gave me and the girlf a fright - i hope this is normal??
Also scared the knickers right off her with the smoke from the radiator when driving hard in the rain but i figured that would happen so not so scary..!

Hopefully not smoke from the radiator?

Steam normal.. get used to folk at traffic lights helpfully pointing it out to you

... and the outside of the windscreen steaming up as you move off
Not so sure about your engine noises

So.... you were sitting in your car with your girlfriend for an hour without the engine running then..... that's not what people meant when they told you about the 'Lotus' position....

Could have been the altenator belt screeching, maybe it needs tensioned or replaced.

and that would be covered under warranty so shouldnt be a problem?
just didnt want to take it down to Murrays for them to say nothing was wrong with it after taking it all apart!!!

I was out in East Lothian in her when the downpour was at it's peak -
lightning was intense!!!
Took it super easy, managed to aquaplane a little on the backroads, but was only doing 20 as I saw the flooding a mile off.
The f*cker leaked a tiny bit - all part of the fun

I'm not sure if a drive belt would be covered by a warranty, it will depend on the cover provided.

Ahhhh there is always the odd leak here and there!!!!!
Bad news about the warranty..
Its standard Lotus warranty so might just give them a call - its not made any other noises so will wait until the next downpour and see what happens...
Ooooh and puddles - cars hate puddles!!!!!
