Lotus 2 Eleven

Booked my car into Lotus Sport today for a service and a factory tour. Dropped the car off this morning and had a chat with Annette at reception. She found out it was my birthday today so after the tour this afternoon we went back to pick up the car and they were testing the 2 Eleven around the track. I didn't want to leave at that point, just wanted to watch it - fantastic!! Annette came back into the office and asked me to sign a piece of paper and hands me a helmet, explaining as its my birthday, with compliments of Lotus Cars, they were going to treat me to a shot in the 2 Eleven!! (As a passenger) Absolutely fantastic!!!!! I thought my car had loads of grip - this sticks to the track like fly paper! Were doing 140 down the back straight at Hethel, he jumps on the brakes for the chicane before the hairpin, doing 100 going into the hairpin!!!

Its got variable traction control which the driver can adjust as you go - he kept adjusting it a click each lap until obviously he reached his limit because he lost it big time on the hairpin - what a thrill!!! Of course...he said he meant to do that! (He's a driving instructor with Lotus). Thanks to Annette at Lotus Motor Sport, Reception, and Paul the driver - for a most enjoyable birthday!!

I didn't realise this but the 2-Eleven actually has an S1 chassis with a Toyota S2 rear subframe so it's a bit of a cross breed.
