Exhaust and wind noise mainly.
Although on longer trips I do stick on my Archos and E2G's and listen to various stuff.
On the way up to FW I was seen bopping along to The Who (won't get fooled again - long version) and by co-incidence had the theme from local hero playing going over Glen Coe.

Tom McRae's latest album King of Cards. On permanent repeat as it's amazing! Saw him at the ABC last week and that was also amazing!

American Idiot is going to go down in history as an absolute masterpiece. One of the finest albums I have ever listened to, and I
hated Greenday before I heard the album.

Whilst Green Day are all right I think masterpiece should be reserved for albums such as Dark Side of the Moon.

I really do think the two albums are in the same league. DSOTM has had a long time to engrave itself into our consciousness as a classic, but I think American Idiot could also gain a similar status in the years to come.
Other relatively recent examples I suppose are Definately Maybe & What's the story...I think Oasis's attitude (read:Liams) have done them no favours though.

Interesting view point and obviously you are entitled to your opinion but as you say time will tell - oh and record sales I guess. When Green Day have more Ferraris than they can shake a stick at I will conceed you are indeed correct
