Pink steering wheel??
I read somewhere they had switchable 4wd/fwd/rwd and a hideously complex gearbox to match.
Awesome beastie though...

Had a matchbox model of it as a kid and always fancied one. A mate has one, but it hasn't been on road properly since Clarkson stuck it in a field for a video of his. IIRC, it went up to Crail in '02 ish but never got started, despite several Ford owners canabalising their engines to offer up the parts

For rally fans it is a bit special, despite the fact it never really made it like quattro/ 205 / Deltas etc - as old Group 4 cars go its not the worst looking. Keith

It was the car that killed (excuse the pun

) group B, so not much of a chance for it to make it really

Are you kidding? That car is too cool for school. I saw one up at KH ages ago with the "boot" lifted like this:
Loved it.

Was it not the 205 accident that killed Toivonen which led to death of Group B (- just at the time Ford brought out RS 200 ).
There was some awesome rally cars about then and soooo fast through the forests

I had a DTV Vauxhall Viva rally car many years ago and it had a huge petrol tank in the boot - caused quite a stir when you stuck filler nozzle into open boot. On more than one occasion attendants wouldn't turn the pump on until I went in to explain why I was filling the boot with petrol

I'm more of a Metro 6R4 fan.
If it wasn't for crashing into the police I would have kitted out my metro 1.3L in the bodykit. It would have been so slow but looked good.
Paul banham did a maestro conversion that was slighly cheaper and used the same mould.
The RS200 was made by reliant as in robin !

that is one special car! when they made the car, there was a rule that only mass production cars can be used for WRC. and to achieve that they had to make 200 cars, though they were not planning to sell all of them in the market. unfortunately... the first car went on WRC and killed a few spectators and they had to remove the car from WRC for safety reasons. so basically ford ended up with a whole lot of cars (with a bad reputation). then of course followed the clearance SALE!
it was the this car which gave birth to the ford cosworth and escort.
and the history goes on.....
i luv that car... but for that money, i'd buy
1 elise
1 exige
1 340R
and the remaining goes for tyres and stuff
