Theres a new rule where overtaking is now only on the left for all events that open to the public! I think thats a pretty good idea IMHO! cheers

I don't.
I have no problem with events that allow overtaking both sides and enjoy them more than regular trackdays. They are not for everyone, but as long as it's known before you get there then you can make the choice.
Anything that gives us less choice in what we do is a bad thing IMHO.

Yeah i hear ya! I guess it depends on whether or not the marshals use the blue flags and/or other drivers are considerate! From my point of your it makes being on track safer especially given that i dont have track insurance!

Well i figure, if a car knows where its got to be to allow someone past there can be no confusion!

I am not fussed as long as everyone sticks to the rules, signals and gets the bloody hell out the way. As long as they make it clear what they are doing.

I don't really care about which side, but being a novice, it's good to have consistency. The thing that would bother me more though is if they let people overtake in the corners. I'm therefore sticking to trackdays where you can only overtake on the straights until I'm a more confident trackday driver.
I think you just have to pick your events appropriately for your abilities/confidence/peace of mind. Don't think they need to apply the same rule to all trackdays.

flash the lights / horn then up the inside on the brakes & jobs a good un. Get your pax to wave a pair of comedy breasts out the window as you make the move, just in case they didnt see you coming
