It's a total fcuk disaster for transport. The car parks are flooded and now closed, people are being turned away. It took my brother 8 hours to get there from near Arbroath, normally that would take an hour at the most

Yea, a mate of mine reported the same. He camcordered the jam - apparently it was pretty epic!

Watched a wee bit of 'T' in the park, had to relay what was happening to my sister as last time we spoke it had taken her 12 hours to get there from kilmarnock and she still hadn't arrived!

spoke to Ed - sounded like his coach was given a police escort up there!!!

Wet pikees throwing wee about later - nice!

I got caught up in that on Friday night. Aberdeen to Edinburgh in 5.5 hours!! Parked on the M90 just south of Perth for about 2.5 hours before I managed to get turned round and head down through Fife. Its the first time I've seen a game of football on a motorway

Just spoke to the missus...She's standing in the King Tut's tent with a cold beer in her hand...and I'm sat on a rusty oil rig, 90 miles off the coast of Shetland...

(At least I'll get to catch the G.P.... )

Apparently things are much improved - She travelled up this morning, and virtually no traffic or delays getting in...Even the mud on the festival site is starting to dry out...

The organisers really should have anticipated the traffic jams - 50,000 of the 75,000 attendees each day camp out, and by scheduling bands for 5pm on Friday, you had 50,000 people trying to get there for lunchtime to get there tents pitched etc...

...It's also been raining for weeks (I've got another swimming pool behind the seats in my S1 ), so surely somebody would realise that there might be issues parking 1000's of cars in water logged fields...(!)

Throw in individual searches for *all* vehicles, and you've a recipe for...Well - what happened really!

Hope they get it all sorted for next year - I'll defo be there!!!

P.S. For any White Stripes fans...They're touring in October, and playing the SECC on the 24th...Tickets go on sale on the 17th of July...

Well im back and dont smell of anything apart from maybe dirt.....

Was very muddy on Fri, got the bus afterwork and theres was no queues. Got the tent up and headed for the arena. Was good to be back on the booze. Thankfully i managed to get barny to buy us some wellies or it would have been aweful. Everywhere in Edinburgh were sold out of them except one place that wanted £160 per pair.

Saw a couple of acts and then headed back to the campsite. Had the worst nights sleep every as we were surrounded by neds.... They talked/shouted and sang all night. I dont think they slept all. Their chat was many about how many Eccys they had. Other chat included, have you got any valium left and can you buy me some pills, how many you want, as many as you can get! and bucky is pure dead brilliant and i luv it, it makes me go mental!

Anyway got up early and went to the arena. Sank loads of booze and ended up back in bed around 7. It seems my body cant cope with three weeks off it. I passed out with my wellies still on and must have had a good sleep until the rank chat started again.
Then zero sleep again....

Saw loads of decent acts today but decided to call it a day around 6ish.
Probably wont do it again, certainly wont be camping again but glad i did it once. cheers

Never been to T in the Park and never been tempted solely due to the ned contingent. I always thought it was a buckfast-drenched ned-fest and Ed's story has confirmed my suspicions. Would rather travel all the way to Glastonbury than put up with the wee neds all weekend. No matter how good the bands are.

Not been for years, the early ones at Strathclyde Park were outstanding and very few neds.

Tell me about it, when I was an art student it was compulsary to go to these things (Glastonbury / Reading), had got bored by the age of 19 and vowed never to do another - and the one's I went to were all in glorious sunshine!

Was the very first one on Glasgow Green?? When I lived near the Cross my flat looked onto the Green and I'm sure I watched the first T in the Park?? I could be completely wrong of course, it was a few years back... 9?
I do remember thinking it'd never catch on or be big, hmmm, another fantastic prediction!

The first ones were out at the playing fields by Strathclyde park, the concerts on Glasgow green were just occasional one-offs.
