Sweet! To be honest they will probably all be as unreliable as the next one! Though the V8s seems to be more bullet proof than the speed 6s.

Noise. The noise! Its the second cheapest one for sale in the UK, so I would bet theres stuff up with it or it has history.

But if it didnt...... :x Lot of car for the $.

Go for it. :D I nearly did last summer till I spent some time on the Pistonheads forums reading about various newbies and their financial disasters. Chimeara owners appear to think that 1500quid bills at every service is a good deal. Balls to that...
Still sound awesome though...

Yes, fast car but at a price.
Only really runs spot on when serviced and tend go off quick and cost a fortune to run......
You could easily spend 10K making it good if you hit problems.
ie chassis,engine rebuild,electrics
Make sure that you get it inspected by a decent independent as the chassis tend to rust from the inside out.
More close to the exhaust manifold due to the heat.

For this money you could pick up a decent pre cat Griff 500 with a reliable v8
Must admit, almost went down this road recently though got stung with a Tuscan...
New age TVR..Never again.

I too have been reading the PH threads. Things like
You could easily spend 10K making it good if you hit problems.
make me want to stick with what I have, its plenty car for me at the moment, but the other side (and my wee bro) both think it`d be a great laugh.

As long as it didnt break, which lets face it is likely.

My parents business partner had a Tuscan which was literally in the garage getting fixed more than on their drive.

I think it`d be a good purchase if you were looking at say 25-30k reliable cars (say exige s2) to look at 15k cerbs. At least then you would have a contingency fund!

That car will more than likely pull your pants down & force you over a table!

A mate did much research into Cerbs a while back (once again, mainly on PH), and heard of single services of over £5k :x

He didn't buy one

Greg is right ref the Griff 500 thing - I had one for 5 years, and although not cheap to run, you knew there were no mega scary stories to greet you at every service :D

The fact I drive a 7 now may tell you something

Another 7 owner (& ex-Cerb owner) has a saying:

"Friends don't let friends buy TVRs"

A good mate of mine had an immaculate Griff 500. Still needed a fair bit of work now and then. Much more than the Elise. Didn't handle as well as the Lotus, but then again, it's not meant to. It's more of a grunter/cruiser, still a brilliant car though. Great sound, loads of grunt, get one.

Ex cerb owning mate made me promise never to buy one after all the problems he had. He hated it for reliability but claims he has never owned faster in his impressive protfolio ... (Esprit, Evo, Cerb, Box, 911C4s, 911t, 355, DB9)

Don't do it, it'll bankrupt you.

Go on go on go on. the look on your mates faces when you floor it will more than make up for the financial hardship and torment of it only working for 3 weeks at a time.

That actually sounds like my car
