What's your annual mileage?

Curious to know how many miles people are putting on their Loti. My use of the Exige this year has been pathetically low - about 1500 miles so far

. I know, I know, I should be shot, but in my defence: combination of 8 month old son, crap weather, and other sporting interests taking up the few free days I seem to have. Have resolved to try and get out more in evenings/early mornings to enjoy the car more for the rest of the summer. Long run tomorrow planned

Bought a 6k limited mileage policy in 2006 and had to extend it to cover about 1k extra miles. Estimate 7.5k miles this year if I am lucky, but with TWO nippers under two just now, I think my chances are slim!
I had previously put 15k+ per year on the car when it was newer...commuting, Stelvio, Nurburgring etc
So I'm happy to pull my average down now!

I've had the Elise almost one year now (5th August) and I've done about 15k. But most of that was in the first few months with loads of road runs and commuting. Been back getting the train to work a fair bit, so I'll still be doing lots of miles in the summer but not so much in the winter, and I think it'll average out around 10k for this year, which is what I've told the insurance company!
Thing about insurance is, they don't know what it had on it when your policy started, so how can they prove you did more miles than you said you would? Mine is not a limit - it's just an estimate, so if it's a bit out, then I don't see how they could invalidate my policy.

If you buy a genuinely restricted mileage policy, you fill out a certificate declaring mileage at start of the term.
For mainstream policies, it is indeed an estimate so probably not easily enforceable. But, like any aspect of insurance, if they chose to investigate in detail at claim-time, and find evidence you've falsified or not notified them of a material fact (ie 20k done when you said 5k!) then your claim will almost certainly be thrown out.
If you have injured someone badly, that could be curtains.
IMHO of course!

I did about 9K in the VX over a year, would expect to do slightly less this year in the Exige although it may depend on if I do any big trips down south, which would easily bump it up again. I didn't use the VX much between November and January last winter though.

About 23k last year - far fewer this year, hopefully!

9K in a year.
Two observations-
1). First six months were 'I think I'll buy the Sunday papers in Oban today- it's not THAT far'
2). Now preferring to drive the shed daily- with the crap weather and for playing dodgems with the pensioner/ distracted mum traffic the Elise is an exercise in frustration
Somehow I never noticed how slowly the world moves till I got the Lotus..
Currently saving for a private Loti island. With a one way road system. In the sun.

I had what I thought was a limited mileage policy with Adrian Flux . I phoned up to say I would need to extend it and they said there was no limit on the policy ????????
I have only done about 2k miles this year and most of that was TT . Having been away quite a bit , rubbish weather and too much time at work its a shameful lack of use.

I did 50k in my first 2 years but only 5k since last August. New baby and bad weather to blame.

Ask you to produce the last MOT certificate and look at the miles??? If they were trying to dodge a payout.
