OMG!! that price from a stealer?!

Surely yours will always retain value for its limited edition status? Subject of course to all of our K-series depreciation woes...

Thats too cheap! I hope its due to the time of year!

I think it just shows the state of the market at the moment, the rubbish weather and the fact they are chucking 05 IIR cars out of the door with £4k off.

Does it have the touring pack? I remember Graham telling me there was such little demand for non-touring cars you had to put a special order to get em.

.....oh thats nothing to whats happening to the VX market. Eh Dave :(

Not just the depreciation of the 111R but also the S2 Exige.
I still think the S1 Exige is the car to have in terms of value holding

Do cars (lotus') in Scotland generally go for more? As the only competition to selling privately are the ridiculously overpriced Murrays, am I wrong?

The cars at Murray are overpriced.
S1 exige seems to be holding really well which is great.
Went for the exige over the 111r partly due to the fact that i thought it would hold its value better. Turns out not by much at the moment :( Am happier losing money via the exige route rather than my old elise. Turns out my old car needs a full respray aswell as all the other work

To be fair, Murrays are a Lotus dealer so will always sell their cars for more than private. You also get the warranty and will always get something knocked off the car.

I thought my S1 was mint until Graham told me what it needed.

True, I'd expect them to be more expensive but compare them to other dealers around the country and their markups are still massively more - the same when it comes to servicing. i feel we get a bit of a raw deal when it comes to Lotus in Scotland. :(

elises tend to be a good 2-3k more up here than they are down in the south of england. which is why i drove for 9 hours to pick my car up.

also murray do over price their cars. i saw a car at another garage and when i went there to see it, they'd sold it to murrays who advertised it a week later for 2k more - and it was the same car!!

i was told by the salesman in murrays that they'll buy elises from other garages and will sell then even at a loss so they always have stock but generally that people are happy to pay more for a car that's came from a lotus dealer cos they know it's been looked after.. bollox bollox sales pitch etc etc

I agree, definately worth more up here.

Just take a look on the autotrader - Max price any, distance nearest first. Theres only 12 in Scotland and murrays are selling 6 of those.

Chr*st! That was not long after I got my car... and I paid 19k for a standard S1 with 9k on the clock....

Aye, Murrays saw me coming!

...amazing what you learn over 4 years...

But to be fair Shug, there was a waiting list for new S2's at the time and they came in at around £27.5K
