Battery booster - where to buy?

Following on from my non-starting thread, anyone know where to buy one of these guys at a decent price (Halfords ones are £75)
Going to try the mighty house of sher at lunchtime but in case anyone had seen them anywhere I thought I`d ask.

Lorry battery on trickly charge and some jump leads.
Much cheaper
but not very portable!
I used to carry one in my Nova

Try an Optimate from any good motorcyle shop. Should be cheaper and has some good connections that you can fit into an S1 battery easier. This is for trickle charging rather than restarting however.

why not use one of those solar powered tricle chargers... unless of course it'll be in the garage

I bought a similar one to the picture over the Internet, about £39, but it was not upto much.
Had a look at the one in Costco, much heavier, so I would think that would do a better job.

I have the exige and 355 connected up to one of these in the garage. Never had a single issue with the battery since doing it.

the cheap jump starts have a very cheap battery inside , fraid you get what you pay for
however liddel sell a £5 auto battery conditoner when they sell their motor bike gear ( every so often ) it is only a trickle charge but auto switches on/off as required so no over charging, ideal for winter lay ups

Yep was just going to say they have on for sale with the car stuff next week. fo £4.99 I believe.
May buy a spare myself.

cheers for the suggestions - picked up a conditioner from machine mart, to find when i checked the old boys shed last night he already had one.... doh!
