In an attempt to cheer myself up...

Post by scottyf » Wed Jul 25, 2007 1:47 pm

Our Budgie died this morning  . Had the wee bugger since he was a chick. 11 years. He used to always sit on the back of the office chair while I was working. So in an attempt to cheer myself up I just bought one of these:

Think I might well head to the pet shop to see if they have any Cockatiels to plonk on the back of it!!!

I would love a parrot. But I dont think it would get the attention it deserves in our house. Kids rule the roost (no pun intended)!

I like birds  but the wife isnt so keen.

I have a big Umbrella Cockatoo, and a 1.5 year old African Grey. He's an absolute hoot - talks, sings, swears, copies anything, anyone, any noise it hears he can do.

I dont think I would sell, but they dont get enough time from me either.

Cockateils are great wee birds, however personally I would go for a pair of well paired love birds. They will amuse each other, look lovely and have a beautiful song.

Oh yeah, sorry! I once had 4 budgies in a week die on me. I was a little mental, lived in a two bedroom flat, with the girl and a kid. 15 budgies, 4 cockatails and two lovebirds.

Day 1:
Snowy flew into a mirror and broke her neck.

Also Day 1:
Joe flew into the bath and drowned.

Day 3:
A wee fat green and yellow number kamikazeed into the wall, landed on a radiator and that was him, gone.

Day 4:
Window took out a blue and white number...

Day 20:
Nursing home take ownership of all birds.

Day 30:
Girlfriend leaves me and takes son.

Day 200:
I meet Claire....

Day 800:
I buy a Cockatoo...

Day 810:
I buy an African Grey Parrot....

Oh oh... :D
