Opinions of the Service Dept at Murrays Sighthill...

What's everyone's thoughts on the service dept at Murray's Sighthill?
My cars in for a MOT and service and in the past it's been excellent.
But this time I'm getting a really bad feeling about it.
The guy on desk doesn't seem to know about his product (stating that elise had power steering, not knowing that they have a cat to fit to CRP equiped cars for their MOTs) and manner is a little arsey...
I'm happy to be proven wrong.
If I'm right are there any alternatives to them up here or do I have to go daan sarf?

MMC have just sacked a whole load of staff including my mate Dave who was the service manager, who had only been at the company a few months. (He certainly aint the arsey type so hope it wasnt him!!)The new service manager has been moved from out the back and im not sure that he knows his stuff.
If its out of warranty i would take her to Brunty "DB Motorsport" in West Calder. He does alot of SE cars and his prices are far more competitive. Cheers Ed

Yeowch!
That doesn't sound good.
Any idea why they fired so many?
It's out of warranty so I may be moving elsewhere...

Maybe while shes on she could tell me why the boy at Glasgow parts thinks you cannot buy any wishbone bushes without buying the wishbone as well at over 100quid per wishbone. He`s got stuff wrong so many times I'll not be back and am just gonna get any parts I need mailorder.

Not sure about this. The service manager for Lotus is called Bill and is a great guy. Think he runs Aston and Suzuki also. He's picked up my car from the door a few times and always brought it back valeted and has time for a gab at the door about the cars and stuff.

As far I know Bill's the service manager, as Gordon said.
Unfortunatly there's no way in this world that MMC could ever replace Pauline at the service desk.
Cheers

And he's got an S1 so he obviously understands and appreciates the finer points of Lotus cars.

What Ed says is spot on. A lot of reshuffling has been done, and a lot of jobs have gone, including Dave Simpson. Not sure of his official title, Service Manager? Any way he knows his stuff, complete petrolhead and fellow CTR owner. He invited me in just before Christmas to show me round lots of expensive Aston Martins that I can't even afford to breathe on.
Top notch lad and told last week he was no longer required. It wouldnt have been him at the desk as he was told he didnt have to work his months notice.
A sign of things to come?

i'd been impressed with them till I had my 18k service 3-4 months ago.\ Its been an never ending saga since, including another trip there tomorrow to see if they can replace the latest thing they didn't re-attach properly......you may see some spares if you take the A68 south of Pathhead
