The best looking car of the whole Elise range, and that is coming from a dedicated S1 owner.
But it is a tin top, and although I know it will come off, virtually no one ever does, so you will always have the caveman element that would not buy one.
I just can not imagine not driving a fresh air Elise.

Tut,
I totally agree, have no hankering for one, need the fresh air experience too! This would fit the bill, lovely car, so for those hankering after a Gareth a like mobile then this might be worth considering...

If you dont have a hankering to own an s1 exige theres something wrong
But it is widely documented that taking the roof off is of no interest to me

Tut, 1600 ford sigma in a superlight i think or a 1.8 k series, 6 speed CRB seems to be standard?! Awaits Caterham gurus!
I have fallen in love though....

Must admit that Gareths colour combination takes some beating, the colour co-ordinated dashboard and interior looked great.

BTW the aly one is a 1600 K with the Caterham 6 speed. Engine longitudinally mounted of course. Very similar car to FD's, Jason, and DaveB

6spd box std on the superlights and either a 1600 or 1800 k series, not ford engine.

I meant to add that I was speaking to Brod Crawford the other day and his S1 Exige is up for sale.
It's a Scholar 1900 K IIRC and will be pristine like his cars always are

Funnily enuff lawrence I was speaking to him last sat morning at kh and he had his exige there, with a for sale sign. It is truly truly immaculate with as u say a circa 220bhp 1.9 scholar rebuild.

driving the S/S last week with the hardtop on sealed it for me. Great fun, but too farking hot & sweaty in there evn with both windows down. I'm not sure I'll ever not own a convertible again

Loving the S1 Exige.
It may be worth driving just because it has new A039s on they are like rocking horse sh1t at the moment.
