You're back :-) I got a text from Lawrence earlier in the week - having a drink somewhere pleasant - the weather here not quite the same :-) Still it has cleared in Edinburgh and will remain clear until tomorrow lunch I think ...

Car dumped in garage where it will stay for a couple of weeks at least - I need to wait for all the filth and grime to set before taking it out on the wet roads, lest it cleans itself :-)

Cheers,
Robin

My Dad and I went out for a run, rather slippy.
Where were you Tut? I was up your neck of the woods too!

Yep back safe and sound, and could not have asked more from N3, she did me proud.

Only problem occurred North of Carlisle with an increasing vibration from the front brakes, so used the handbrake for the rest of the journey.

As Andy said, how anyone could live around the London area without topping themselves beats me. Even on a Saturday the shortish M25 section that we covered was a carpark, and when we got onto the M1 it was even worse, and we must have lost an hour there. And that was without any accidents on the roads.

On the other hand, once North of Preston, the traffic thinned out, and by the Lakes, there was hardly anything on the road. Weather was diabolical from the start of the M6 onwards, got the top on just in time underneath a bridge, and felt really sorry for Scotty and Jaci.

450 miles on Friday to the Ferry, 650 miles on Saturday to Old Deer, so spent Sunday recovering, and eating a good British roast with the family.

0500 now as I could not get back to sleep, so will catch up on the rest of the posts from the last two weeks.

Gareth, that post was rather in jest, car is parked in the bike shed for a couple of days of well earned rest, then I will fix the brake problem, probably a warped disk, and give her a good clean.

More likely to be a worn wheel bearing, Tut, if the problem developed on a cruise rather than a track session.

Cheers,
Robin

BTW I didn't realise you guys were coming up on Saturday - I went up the A1 route that day too (with a small diversion to Wisbech to collect something from Kiwirog) - weather was not so bad until I reached Edinburgh - lots of overtaking required on the A68 - 40mph brigade were out in force :-)

I still haven't found the road that bypasses Selkirk though - must try again soon :-)

Cheers,
Robin

P.S. You should have offered Jaci a dry seat ...

Going to check it today Robin.

No sound of wheel bearing noise at all in neutral, started out the same as one of Gearys warped disks that he replaced, but got worse very quickly under medium/heavy braking.

Hopefully nothing serious, I have plenty of spare disks, and should show up once jacked up and wheel off.

Would have gladly given Jaci a lift, Brian did the same on Thursday as Scottys cover leaked overnight and the seats were soaking, however we were split up on the M1 debacle, and I was probably too far behind for them to waste time stopping.
