I think Brian (was with us on FF6) has a pheonix car.

Might be worth speaking to him first (think his surname is Laing). Possibly Se1 only though

He does have a Pheonix, all I will say is the conversion costs approx 7k. you get what you pay for.

I would stay clear.

I have heard some bad things about pheonix kit, Mark Anderson didnt have nice things to say about there driveshafts when one snapped and left him stranded trying to cross a dual carriageway

Also, i tried to warn Ed that you get what you pay for with honda kits. Look at the trouble he had with his

This is the advert from Feb

Hi Guys,

I'm considering selling my car as I fancy a change in direction - so just to put the feelers out.

Spec is:
Uprated rear Toe links (a must for sticky tyres)
Uprated Dampers (Nitrons)
Uprated front ARB
Aluminium belled discs
Pagid Rs14 brake pads
Braided brake lines
Competition brake fluid
Nimbus heat shielding under the rear.
Two new rear brake callipers
Throttle Linkage upgrade
OZ Motorsport wheels shod with Toyo R888 tyres (c.£2k) inc lucking nuts
2.0 litre Honda K20a2 Engine and Transmission Conversion by Tony Stansfield
Specific mapping to the car.
New uprated (tried and tested on 300+hp Honda conversions) driveshaft’s & CV joints c.£700
Baffled Sump
Willians Harness and harness bar
Lively Geo with machined front uprights
Painted wishbones
400lbs and 500 springs
Quick Rack (steering)
Oil changed every 2k miles with Silkoline race stuff and Millers)
Uprated Silkoline gearbox fluid
Rear 3 element rear diffuser painted black
Black fuel filler trim
Full service history
Folder FULL of receipts, including the bill of sale etc
2002 Sports Tourer (02 plate)
35k miles (10k on the K20)
Photo diary (sorta) of the car conversion.

The car has wanted for nothing. It is a very well sorted car and will out run most supercars. The handling has never been so good - credit to Greg and Ollie at Phoenix for all the work they have done on this car :)

I've spent *well in excess* of £30k to get it to this spec. So offers around £22k will be invited.

It will really pain me to see this go, but a change is as good as a rest as they say.

As Scotty says, unimpressive conversion by Phoenix. Brians S2 car has spent more time off the road than on since it was converted.

It broke down abeam Birmingham on the way to the Ferry and needed a new hangar bearing, but it did make it to the end of FF6 with only one other problem. Phoenix use the original Civic exhaust manifold, cut it, and add a bit on to fit into the Elise. Then it comes apart. The whole conversion seems to be along these lines.

The spec otherwise is excellent, and it may have been sorted with the new driveshafts etc, but the engine mounts and other parts are poor.

Phoenix do all my servicing and repaired my car after the Vectra incident. Dunno about their Honda kit but service is top notch and they are very cheap for labour (£30~£35 per hour) I trust them and I know they will do what they say.

There are plenty of happy Honda customers on Norlog! Come and ask some before going either way. Paddy on Norlog has just taken delivery of one.

Phoenix: 01254 384071 or look up StephenM on Norlog.
