Di and I are having a couple of nights away next month, thinking of heading over to Oban for a night then venturing North, Fort William/Inverness. Does anyone have any recommendations for decent Hotels, price wise anything considered, also can anyone remember the name of the hotel where we stopped for lunch on the Saturday of TT2005.
Cheers

If you don't want to "get down with Dougal" in the Oban discotheque at night, then I can recomend the Oyster Inn at Connel Bridge couple of miles outside Oban on the main road
I stayed there last w/e. The rooms were very contemporary and the food was very excellent. The restaurant was turning folk away all evening so it seemed well known. The old Connel Ferry building is the attached pub. Massive whisky selection... Floodlit car park at the rear for the Elise.
Got up Sunday morning. Great breakfast, then blasted up to Fort Tourist Tat William . Road between Connel and Ballachulish was empty. Turned around at and drove all the way down the west coast A816 until Lochgiplhead, back through Inverary and Glasgow.
English bank holiday w/e. I thought it would be caravan central. I must have over taken 10 car if I was lucky (oh and 2 motorcyclists)
