Structural Engineer required

Gail has plans going through for a Extension to Boag Towers.
Mutterings about RSJ's and involving a Structural Engineer have been overheard in her discussion with the architect.

looked at removing an arch in me house.
required a rsj.
didnt go for it coz abit costly with other stuff i gotta do.
be good to hear how u get on.

Any extension, no matter how small or simple will require an SER certificate to get building warrant and for that you will have to employ an Engineer.
Due to the way the SER system works these days it has to be signed off by a company and someone within the company who is a certified to sign it. All that means that it hard these days to find a guy willing to do a design off the kitchen table for a few hundred quid.
My company doesnt really deal with stuff that small, the Architect should be able to reccommend some local/cheap Engineers.
