Craig and I speak or e-mail every couple of days. N1 is now ready but Ian has to stay on in Canada until next week, then he will pick it up. I was going to take N3 down to Craig for a geo the morning of Amp3, but as it's handling now is dodgy even for me, he suggested bringing it earlier so that I can leave it with him whilst he gives it a good going over. If any parts were needed he would then have time to order them.

Plan is to drive down next week, pick up Ian at the Airport, leave N3 with Craig and return home with Ian in N1. That way it will be sorted for SIDC as well.

O. M. G.

Did he really say that? Have you been asked to leave a blank cheque this time? Or deeds to the house as collateral?!?! ;-)

Great opportunity and clearly Craig and the team are into either masochism or treating it as further professional development time!

It'll sit there as a threat to any of the guys with a lip: "Any more of that and you'll be on tut's car!"

I can't believe that, firstly you said it was all fixed and that was only a few weeks ago. Secondly you've previously done about 600miles without much complaint and had a rear wheel wobbling away like a spinning plate about to fall off its peg.

So what is the most surprising thing they will find?

That it actually does still have 4 wheels?

Does seem a bit extreme, but looking back, I was having to drop rearwards on the last three road runs, so maybe I am just getting cautious in my old age. Hopefully it is just geo and no broken parts

Special tut's rates Campbell <BG>

Craig just said that it would be an honour to have N1 and N3 there at the same time.

Well I hope he takes pictures because such an event may never recur!

The valet boys were only just recovering from the news that they had to tackle N1's interior before it goes out...how they are taking news of now also having to prep N3 inside and out, I simply cannot guess ;-)

Will there be a big joint key handing over ceremony when both are finished?!

Unfortunately they will only be together for a short period, but we will take pics with Craig and the mechanics.

I will be taking N3 in and leaving it, Ian will collect N1 and take me back home. That will fit in nicely with SIDC on the 17th, go down the day before with my bus pass and collect her, then see if my bed is still available at Robin's. Even better if Ian is not sent back to Canada before then, he is booked in for SIDC so I could go down with him.

N3 must have been bad, I offered it to Neil for FF but he never took it up.

Thanks to Craig and the team at MMC for giving the car a look over and fitting tyres prior to trip to France.

Probably the biggest endorsement for Craig yet. I drove N3 down yesterday for a geo, and for Craig to give it a good going over, Scotty, Neil, and Hendeg were already there on their way home, and parked it next to N1 which was ready to go.

Craig went through the invoice with me, the only six pager he has ever done for an Elise, and I waited for the last line. Can not give details, but to say that it was a pleasant surprise is the understatement of the Century. She has been down there for four weeks, partly waiting for spares to come through, but mostly because Ian was delayed in Canada. She had been valeted and polished and looked like new. Craig also guaranteed that she was in excellent mechanical condition as well after they had finished with it. Spoke to the chief mechanic who had overseen his team, but he still had the shakes after leaving hospital from his nervous breakdown.

Verian picked me up on her way back from Middlesbrough and Ian collected N1 in the evening on his way home from Canada and said it was a completely different car. Good news is that he will now be able to make SIDC on the 17th as his flight has been put back, but unfortunately not Amp3 on the 23rd.

Verian and I have agreed that Craig will be godfather for our next baby.

Tut, I may have missed it but how did they go about sorting the corrosion problem ? Those pics you posted had me quite worried for a while :)
