I've been toying with the idea of send the old girl back in as a 10th birthday present.

Your posting may have just swayed my mind (and I'll point Mandy in this direction too)

Would be nice to know that she's had a proper looking over and hopefully in good shape for another 10+ years of ownership.

what's even more remarkable is that it's more than ten years ago - I can still remember your 4 minute test drive to buy it....

1st March 2002 - ten brand new S2s handed over in just one day - those were the days etc etc
15th December 2001 for pick up. I think I said if it drives nice at 30mph & Mandy can reach the pedals :D

Just had my first experience with Murrays today after picking the VX up from an annual service. Car was immaculate when I came to collect it and they had even painted my discs, a nice touch. :D

They also sorted a few things for me at no extra cost and have pointed out a few areas that need seeing to at some point. I look forward to booking it back in once I've decided how much I want to spend on the old girl. The only negative is all of the tasty looking Evora's lying around tempting me to do something silly!

Ive posted on this thread before about Craig and Murrays, but thought I would add a further point (for what its worth):
Used to take a few cars there and was always delighted with the service. Over time I drifted off and went to other places, really just due to the nature of the work I was getting done. I recently decided to service my Cayman S, get new brake pads and fit a Tubi exhaust. Whilst I like the Porsche Centre Edinburgh generally, the cost for this work is quite high and they wont fit non OEM gear, such as the Tubi. I called a place called SP Autobahn who are a Porsche specialist. The guy on the phone did that thing that some garages do where they act like your speaking chinese. Everything seemed like a real problem. Not sure about pads, would need to order them, how much is left, can I confirm wear etc. Also the exhaust seemed like a real problem. I tried to describe that I thought it eliminated the rear two cats, etc. he seemed to have no idea what I was on about and that it would probably be very difficult. The whole thing seemed like a real hardship and very confusing to the guy.
I then gave Craig a call. Striaght away he knew about the Cayman's servicing requirements, inc brake fluid change (pretty impresive for a Lotus guy), knew all about the Tubi and how to fit and said if needs pads, he'll fit them, if not he wont. Simple. He was able to give me a price for everything.
As I have said before, Murrays and Craig have really cracked it in that they understand what you are looking for and just make the whole process so much easier. Why other garages insist on fcuk about so much I just don't know.
As everyone else says, why go anywhere else? Having said that, the exhausts not on the car yet...

Today, it was almost a pleasure, handing over the second largest amount I have ever paid for a service (next to an Esprit) for the Exige.

Craig and his team at MMC worked wonders for me including some work I hadnt event asked for! Absolutely nothing wrong, the bill was fully explained and itemised. Top class. Work included new number plate, TRD air box upgrade/ new brake pads, brake fluid change, 4yr service, window glass alignment, and coolant change.

Hopefully, JM Group management are aware of how MMC has turned around over the past few years under Craig and realise that they now have a top class Lotus dealership.

Some bad news though - my air con pipes are f*cked. Ah well, some more work for Craig coming up before my Belgium, France, Switzerland, Italy (Stelvio), Monaco and back to France trip in September.

:cheers

It has all been said before so I keep this brief, great service from a first class team and the their assistance was greatly appreciated.

A special thanks for arranging out of hours collection and sorting all my late requests.

Cheers Craig

Another visit to MMC (Elaine's car, tyres, a wee fix and an MOT), another nice surprise at the bill and no reason to moan.

This is getting boring, but well done again MMC :thumbsup

Being the fussy twat I am, I took mine back over to have the clam adjusted slightly and an access panel washer changed after my recent radiator replacement. No fuss and 1000 apologies from Craig, asked them to look at my steering column as I thought it was slightly out of line but turns out I put my seats back in wrong when I fitted the harnesses

Free fast road Geo done too. :thumbsup

Couldn't help laughing at a Volvo customer dealing with Craig before me "it's here for its 3rd year free service, don't be leaving anything needed and then try to charge me for it at the next service, I'm not daft !" hopefully he'll realise he's found a good main dealer !

I was in again on Friday for the cars second service - hard to believe I've had it almost 2 years! Parked up next to what looked like an identical car so I'm starting to wonder if I do have the only one in that colour in Scotland  Dropped off at 11am and it was ready for me at the back of 3- the "loan" car I had in between was surprisingly good too (for a Volvo). Everything went smoothly as expected with a pleasantly small bill at the end. The only thing that could have been done better was my new number plates which didn't quite turn out as I was expecting.

Yet more happy feedback from me today.

Just picked the car up after getting:

308mm brake discs fitted
Uprated Toe-link fitted
Vibra Technic engine mounts fitted
Car lowered a further 5mm, now 10mm lower than stock
Full fast road geo setup
New air filter

A fair bit of work done and it wasn't without complications (wrong spacers sent to me for calipers) however as usual Craig went out of his way to get things sorted out. Usual high standard or customer service with regular comms and updates and all very resonably priced considering the amount of work that was put in.

Top job as usual.

Another thank you from me today. VX went in for brake and clutch fluid change and an overall check-up. Nice to meet Craig and to have a chat about various bits and bobs. Shame he couldn't sort the Friday night rush hour traffic going to the Forth road bridge.
